Download the full game from Steam
Open the official ReStory Steam page and confirm that it names Mandragora as developer and tinyBuild as publisher. Purchase through the Steam account that should own the license, then use the library Install action. Steam manages delivery, file updates, and the account entitlement for that copy.
The full game released on August 6, 2026 and is a paid commercial product. A store discount, regional price, bundle, or tax can change the checkout amount, so verify the live total rather than relying on an old search snippet. The historical launch announcement said $19.99 USD with a 10 percent launch discount, but that dated context is not a promise about today's price.
Steam ownership is not the same as receiving a portable installer that can be shared. The account and storefront terms control access, refunds, family features, and regional restrictions shown at checkout. This guide does not offer product keys or redistribute game files.
Download the free Demo
The official Demo listing provides a free way to try the concept. It released June 15, 2026 and appears as a separate app in Steam, while the full game launched in August. Use the Demo listing or the Download Demo button on the main page rather than a file mirror.
Official Demo copy includes detailed restoration, nostalgic devices, a shop, parts sourcing, customer interactions, and branching-story context. The June announcement also describes customization and changes made after playtest feedback. Its purpose is to sample the interaction and atmosphere, not to unlock the entire paid campaign.
The approved source set does not confirm that Demo saves transfer into the full game. Treat the two installations and save states separately unless the current official page explicitly says otherwise. Do not rename, copy, or convert files based on an unofficial transfer guide without a backup.
Check requirements before installing
The verified Windows minimum lists Windows 10 x64, a two-core and four-thread processor, 4 GB of memory, a GTX 750 Ti, DirectX 11, and 1 GB of available storage. The current macOS minimum lists macOS 14 or newer, Apple M1, 8 GB of memory, Apple integrated M1 graphics, and 1 GB of storage. Check the live store because requirements and storage can change with updates.
The listed storage amount is a minimum rather than the only free space the computer will ever need. Steam may use temporary space during download and patching, while saves, screenshots, mods, and operating-system activity add their own needs. Leave a practical margin instead of filling the drive to the exact displayed number.
Minimum hardware also does not promise one resolution or frame rate. Official playtest notes mention VSync and target-frame-rate options, and post-launch notes describe fixes for ultrawide behavior and other issues. The free Demo can help test a supported computer, but differences between Demo and current full-game builds should be expected.
Install, update, and verify files
After adding the correct app to the library, choose a Steam library with enough space and let the client complete installation. Launch once without community mods so configuration and save folders are created by the current build. Apply queued updates before diagnosing a problem because official patches have addressed saves, achievements, firmware, inventory, ultrawide screens, sonic-bath states, screws, and named devices.
If files appear damaged or the game stops launching, use Steam's installed-files verification for the relevant app. Verification compares the local installation with the storefront build and reacquires missing or changed base files. It does not validate third-party plugins, translation packages, or custom configuration outside the official files.
Record whether the issue affects the Demo, full game, or both. Those apps can use different versions and content, so a result in one does not prove the other is broken. Include operating system, game version, hardware, and reproduction steps when contacting official support.
Avoid unsafe and unauthorized downloads
Do not use a page advertising a cracked full version, repack, portable archive, key generator, console ROM, mobile APK, or special launcher. Such packages are not identified by the approved developer or publisher sources and can carry altered executables, stolen credentials, malware, or incomplete updates. A familiar logo and screenshot do not establish authenticity.
Be cautious with third-party mod files as well. Community projects can be legitimate and useful, but they are optional additions rather than an official game download. Verify the project page, loader, supported version, permissions, and backup process before adding anything to the Steam installation.
Never enter Steam credentials into a download form reached through an unknown advertisement. Sign in through the Steam client or a correctly verified Steam domain and use account security protections. This guide links only to the official game and Demo destinations.
What the official download does not include
The base purchase does not automatically grant an unannounced PS5, Nintendo Switch, Android, or iOS version. No verified native product for those platforms was found as of August 16, 2026. Remote streaming from a computer is a separate service and should not be described as downloading a native port.
The soundtrack and Digital Artbook are separate products or bundle components in the official August news. Their availability does not mean every extra is included with the base license. Check the bundle contents and Complete the Set behavior on the live Steam checkout before purchasing.
Keep the Steam receipt and account confirmation rather than relying on a screenshot of a key or download page. If access disappears, official purchase records give Steam evidence to investigate ownership, while an anonymous file host cannot provide license support. This is another reason the verified storefront route is safer than chasing a temporarily cheaper unauthorized package.
Pause before installing when a page hides its file source. A legitimate Steam installation remains visible in the client library and update history. Unknown packages cannot offer that transparent chain of delivery.
The correct path is therefore simple: official Steam page for the paid game, official Demo page for the free sample, and official announcements for updates. Regional storefront availability, current prices, future platforms, and save transfer remain subject to their live source. Anything outside those verified routes is not presented here as an official ReStory download.
